About me
Welcome Fifi, who has lost her beloved owner, Tom. We promise, Tom, that we will take good care of your "old lady."
Fifi lived a cherished life with Tom, a kind-hearted elderly man who devoted himself entirely to his precious cat. Friends described Tom as caring, compassionate, and utterly devoted to Fifi.
Sadly, Tom's health declined after he broke his hip, and he was hospitalised. While there, he developed dementia rapidly. Although his memory faded, he kept packing his bag repeatedly, no matter how many times the nurses unpacked it. He would always say, "I need to get home to my old lady." Many assumed he was referring to his late wife, who had passed away decades earlier. While it was true that Tom missed his wife, the "old lady" waiting for him at home was, in fact, his dear Fifi. Despite his memory loss, he never forgot his need to care for her. Tom passed away shortly thereafter.
Since his passing in June, neighbours and friends have been feeding Fifi, but she has had very little companionship. That’s no life for Fifi, and Tom would have wanted better for her.
Today, Fifi arrived in our care. She looked a bit neglected from not having her "daddy" around for some time and had some dental issues. Although Tom always took her to the vet regularly until 2020, his declining health made it difficult for him to keep up.
Ilhami at Elizabeth Street Vets stayed late to perform a dental procedure on poor Fifi so she could go to foster care. She had been alone for too long and needed to be cared for and loved again.
We know we can never replace her daddy, Tom, but we promise, from the bottom of our hearts, to look after your "old lady" for as long as she needs us, until she joins you at the Rainbow Bridge.
Fifi is now looking for a loving retirement home where she can be loved, even if just a fraction of how much her daddy adored her. She is 13 years old, in good health after her dental work and grooming, and she just wants a quiet, cosy home where she can feel cherished.
Can you grant Tom his last wish and adopt his dear Fifi?
